Feeling Lost, Alone, and Scared in This Ever Changing World

We tend to keep troubles we are experiencing or issues that bother us to ourselves instead of talking to someone about it . This is never a good idea! When we do this, those issues tend to build and build up inside of us causing even more issues. This can lead to depression, anxiety, behavior changes, and more. This is why it is so important to have someone or a group to talk to about what is going on in our lives.

In noting this, we must also realize that there are different stressors. Developmental crises are events or phases that are expected to be experienced by us during normal development. This is the normal pains of growing up…the drama oh the drama! Even with this, it is important to have a friend, counselor, or family member to talk to for advice, the vent, or just to help us understand what is going on, no matter our age, because everyone experiences things and copes differently, no matter the age. Another form is Existential crises. These events could involve religious faith, beliefs, or spirituality. These are events that affect one’s sense of meaning, purpose, freedom, independence, forgiveness, shame, or other core beliefs. No one is the same!! We are all different!! We handle/cope differently, we believe differently, we interpret or perceive things differently. The same event can impact 100 people in a different way. This is why it is important to talk to someone and find what works for you! If you are struggling: reach out, get help, talk to someone, join an online group, do some research. You will find that you are not alone, that there is someone out there that is wanting to help you! Don’t let it build up and harm you any more than it already has!
