Feeling Lost, Scared, and Alone In The World

Some may wonder, “How do I change my mindset?” Understandibly so, this is not always easy. This took me a long time to figure out for myself, I am talking years! But it doesn’t have to be that way for you! There are so many more resources available today than there used to be. It took me 8 years to get through school and to complete my Masters Degree in Psychology. This was between working fulltime in Emergency Medicine on the ambulance and working in a mental health office. I will say to change your mindset it takes dedication, focus, willpower, and the love for yourself!

We must love ourselves in order to deal with the turbulations that life throws our way. In order to laugh at the unintelligence and mindlessness of others we must first seek to love and accept who we are first. I know that in the beginning I struggled with this fact. I feared what others would think and see me. I had to accept that I am not some alien…I am a normal human being that just doesn’t fit into the norms of my society. But that is ok….if everyone thought the same, we would never be able to invent or create new things.

As we take a look back in history we can see the changes. Although, this may seem small, our nation has made strides in equality. I try to remember that some is better than none! There is much more to come in the years ahead, but until then ,we just have to keep pushing and supporting each other!

First, we have to start with ourselves! Change your mindset, love yourself, accept yourself, reach out if you need help, and don’t give up!
